Leading Italian anti-mafia activists expressed alarm on Monday that Facebook pages dedicated to praise of some of Cosa Nostra's most notorious and bloody bosses have attracted hundreds of young admirers.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

This is not unique to Italy. Just look around at all the t-shirts, etc., celebrating Che Guevara, who was far more murderous, bloodthirsty and cruel than the mafia.

Che Guevara...was far more murderous, bloodthirsty and cruel than the mafia.

But an amateur compared to George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and their collaborators for their lesser cause.

3/4 or more of the kids that wear his t-shirts have no idea what he stood for or who he really was. And He (Che) id probably rolling over in his grave with the money they are making off his face. As to the article, hey they join these groups, many time without knowing also who or what the person really stood for. Sad thing is many don't know that schools, potential employers are going more and more to these sites to  see what you are putting up.

The difference is that Bush and Cheny did it to protect us (including you).  Guevara just took great prsonal pleasure in killing people.

Real mafia followers aren't gonna post it on the net. These guys are just wanna bees. Anyone who actually follows won't advertise, it just asks law enforcement to check them out.
